The Return of the Big Tree

The season approaches, and with it, glory.

Gentlepersons, mallet fans and long-suffering spouses: the Dubai Croquet Club is delighted to announce the 2024 Clements Cup season.

After a long and thorough committee meeting (it was mostly about snacks) we are pleased to confirm that the venue remains Safa Park, by the big tree. The tree has been consulted. The tree raised no objections.

A few “minor” changes

• The Captain’s chair has been upgraded from “folding” to “regal”.
• PIMMS will now be served in the correct glasses. Previously they were served in the glasses that were nearest.
• Ben has been moved to the “Learners” pool, at his own request and the committee’s insistence.

What to expect

Cucumber sandwiches, scones, and a level of tactical thinking that would make a chess grandmaster weep. Please wear white. If you do not own white, the committee will lend you something. It will not fit.
