# Need Answers?

Can children play?+

We have not confirmed a minimum age yet, so please email [hello@dubaicroquet.com](mailto:hello@dubaicroquet.com) before bringing children along.

We are told children are excellent at hitting things. We are less sure about aiming.

Is it free to play?+

You are aware this is Dubai, right!?

Yes, it is free to play, although a deposit is required to borrow a club mallet.

We want this to be inclusive, so if there is ever a charge it will be shared by us all just to cover costs.

Is croquet hard to pick up?+

No, the rules of golf croquet are quick to learn, and a handicap system gives weaker players extra shots.

Seriously, have you seen our captain?

How long does a game of croquet take?+

A game of golf croquet takes about an hour, or longer depending on how many people turn up to play, while association croquet can take several hours.

Which is why we play the first one. There is a bar to get back to.

How do I join the club?+

Register as a player on the [registration page](/player-registration/) and turn up to the next session on the [Events page](/events/).

There is no initiation. Yet.

Is there a croquet club in Dubai?+

Yes, the Dubai Croquet Club plays golf croquet at Safa Park, Dubai, on some Saturdays at 2:30pm.

It is a social club first and a competitive one second, and we have a very good tree. [Here is how to play croquet in Dubai](/play-croquet-in-dubai/).

Do I need my own mallet?+

No, you can borrow a club mallet. A deposit is required to borrow one.

Bring your own if you have one, and yes, we will be looking at it if its fancy.

Can I become a multimillionaire playing croquet?+

No, probably not. But if you are one, it's definitely the game to play. Along with Elephant Polo. Also, who doesn't like throwing into the conversation that they are heading to 'my club'?

I am a member of another croquet club, can I play?+

Yes, members of other croquet clubs are welcome. The bar is low my friend, so be prepared to be flexible on the rules. Come show us how it's done.

Is this club serious?+

It is a social club, with a deadly serious annual tournament called the Dubai Croquet Clements Cup. Define serious? We mostly all have jobs. There are some children, plants and pets. They are all currently alive.

Is there a uniform?+

No, there is no uniform, so wear whatever you feel comfortable in.

As long as it's white. And linen. And Fabulous.

We have personal shoppers and stylists available should you need some pointers. Just have a (very) quiet word with the ladies' captain.

What is golf croquet?+

Golf croquet is a croquet game where two sides take turns hitting a ball through the same hoop, one stroke per turn, and the first side to win 7 hoops wins the game.

It is the quick, social version, and the one we play. [Read the rules](/the-game/), or watch someone's confidence evaporate in real time.

When can I play?+

We play on some Saturdays at 2:30pm (Gulf Standard Time) during the cooler months.

Check the [Events page](/events/) for details of our next meeting, and [register as a player](/player-registration/) to get involved.

Where do you play?+

We play at Safa Park, Dubai, by the big tree.

Our wish list for a grander home remains: good grass, ground staff, a pool, a bar, air conditioning, parking, a sauna, a hammam, a jetty, a runway and an in-house band. Offers welcome.
